Georg Ahsbahs, who is considered a symbol for the foundation of the planned Holsteiner horse breeding, is the godfather of the new medal, which is presented to a breeder, who has achieved great success with the Holsteiner horse with his breeding products. Georg Ahsbahs founded the horse breeding club Krempermarsch. Later, he joined the horse breeding associations of the marshes to Holsteiner Verband and promoted the idea of targeted stallion rearing. With the founding of the riding and driving school Elmshorn 1894, which represented something completely new and extraordinary for the time, he rounded off his life's work. Economist Georg Ahsbahs, who is also regarded as a mastermind of horse breeding in the last century, also wrote the first volume of the Holstein Stud Book and the book on horse breeding in the Krempermarsch. Until his death in 1918 he was chairman of the association.
